Fandangle to open in 1 week
By Sandy Morris
Dress rehearsal followed by opening night of the 83rd anniversary edition of the Fort Griffin Fandangle takes place in one week, and the entire cast and crew are rehearsing almost every night.
Local businesses, organizers, and participants are busy preparing for the upcoming activities, performances, and expected out-of-town visitors.
Artistic director Lorna Ayers has emphasized the importance of showing up for every practice.
“After Thursday night, we have three rehearsals of the full show with the entire cast next week starting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday,” said Ayers.”Everyone needs to show up for every practice and bring plenty of bug spray.”
Dress rehearsal is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, and the four summer shows will start at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 18-19, and June 25-26 at the Prairie Theater just north of town.
The Fandangle Parade will take place in downtown Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.
Rehearsal Schedule
“The rain keeps throwing us some curve balls,” said Ayers, “but everyone has been willing to work around any changes we have had to make in order to get our rehearsals done.”
She added that group messages would be sent out for any last minute changes.
