Field Day among final events

Students and staff of Nancy Smith Elementary School participated in the annual field day on Monday, May 24 at Webb City Park. 

Preschool through sixth grade students were bussed to the park for a morning of fun and games including sack races, hurdles, tug-of-war, kickball, relays, and bounce houses. 

Students enjoyed sack lunches before returning to campus for the remainder of the school day. 

The awards assembly for first through fifth grade students was held on Wednesday, May 26 in the elementary cafeteria.

Last Day of School

The last day of school is Thursday, May 27 and  AISD students are scheduled for an early release at 12:30 p.m.

At 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, the sixth graders will have their ‘End of Year’ cere­mony with presentation of awards, a slide show, and running the halls.

Graduation

At 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, graduation practice and pictures will be held in the Albany High School gymnasium. 

Students should bring caps, gowns, and tassels to the practice. Stoles will be passed out before the pictures.

Graduation will be Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the high school gymnasium. 

Teachers have a scheduled staff development day on Friday, May 28. 

Summer Hours

All AISD campuses will be closed on Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day.

Summer office hours for all campuses are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday, from June 1 to July 30. 

More information about summer school will be provided next week.
