Local students will have the opportunity to participate in several sports camps during the summer break, including one scheduled June 1-3 the week after school ends.

The first camp combines three sports – football, baseball and basketball – with one day of instruction dedicated to each.

The All-Sports Camp is open to both boys and girls.

“Each day the participants will go through drills that will help improve their agility, speed, and hand-eye coordination, along with focusing on running, throwing and catching techniques,” Ryder Peacock said. “This camp is open to and will benefit both boys and girls.”

Cost of the camp is $35 for all three sessions or $15 per day if choosing only one of two of the sessions.

Tuesday, June 1 will concentrate on football, followed by baseball on Wednesday, June 2. Basketball will be taught on Thursday, June 3.

Sessions will be divided into two age groups, with students entering grades K-3 next year meeting from 9:00 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. each day.

For students entering grades 4-9, the session will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

All students will meet at the Green Room at the field house on the secondary campus.

Family rates are available, including $60 for two siblings and $85 for three.

The camp is sponsored by the First National Bank of Albany.

Forms were sent home with students currently in grade school, or can be obtained by contacting camp instructors David Fairchild 325-721-5232 or Ryder Peacock 325-762-0253.

Completed forms and registration fees can be mailed to Fairchild at 224 S. Jacobs, Albany TX 76430.
