Farm Bureau contributes to several local programs

At their March meeting, Callahan-Shackelford Farm Bureau directors voted to support local food banks and Project Graduation activities.

The board voted to participate in the “Helping Hands Assistance Program” sponsored by Texas Farm Bureau. To deal with the need caused by the unprecedented weather event last month, county farm bureaus were encouraged to partner with the state organization in contributing to local food banks.

Contributions were made to Vittles by Vehicles in Albany, Callahan County Nutrition Program for Baird, and Clyde and Cross Plains Senior Center.

Farm Bureau is an advocate for providing educational tools and encouraging leadership development for the younger generation.

Since COVID has caused less participation in sponsored activities for youth, the board decided to support Project Graduation events in Albany, Baird, Clyde, Cross Plains, Eula, and Moran. A financial contribution was authorized for each school in Callahan and Shackelford counties.
