Funding raised for 2021 Project Graduation
By Sandy Morris
Project Graduation organizers are busy this week preparing all the truffles and gifts sold during their first fundraiser benefitting the annual celebration following graduation.
Class parent Tisha Wilkins said the order forms rolled in along with requested ingredients, and seniors and their parents have spent the week dipping and decorating the truffles.
“I think this is our biggest Valentine’s fundraiser,” said Wilkins. “We are looking at making and decorating over 2,000 truffles this year.”
Seniors and their parents have earned credit for their participation in the Valentine’s Day fundraiser.
The truffles and other items ordered will be delivered to the high school and to Nancy Smith Elementary School this Friday, Feb. 12,” said Wilkins.
Credit opportunities
Seniors and their parents are encouraged to get involved and help with any of the fundraisers held by the class this year.
“Seniors and parents who helped with the ‘Dip and Decorate’ nights will receive credit,” said Wilkins. “Seniors also receive credit for the fundraiser if they brought Oreo cookies and cream cheese for the truffles, if they delivered truffles, or if they promoted the event on social media.”
‘To Go’ Luncheon
The senior class will also hold a ‘To Go’ lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at The Feed Store.
The menu will include chicken spaghetti, salad, bread stick, and dessert for a donation.
Each senior will be assigned a food item to donate before the luncheon.
Once again, seniors can help by promoting the lunch on social media and helping deliver meals to cars. Parents can help inside by making up the to-go boxes.
Each student is required to have a minimum of four credits from participating in various fundraisers in order to qualify for additional gifts at Project Graduation.
