4-H’ers to meet for various events

In addition to preparing for upcoming livestock shows, members of the local 4-H chapter continue to stay busy in other areas of interest. 

Farrier Program

Shackelford County extension agent and 4-H sponsor Kloey Painter announced a special horse program slated for Thursday, Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the show barn.

“A farrier will come show the kids how to shoe a horse,” said Painter. 

Shotgun Practice

The 4-H Shotgun Club will hold practice each month. Practice was recently held on Tuesday, Jan. 12 and the next practice will be on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Practices are held at the Breckenridge gun range from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

4-H Annual Food Show

The 4-H Annual Food Challenge is set for Wednesday, Jan. 27 in San Angelo. 

The local club will take three groups to competition including two junior teams and one intermediate team.
