Churches host children’s programs

Two local churches are planning to mark the new school year with kick-off events for their children’s ministries.
Friendship
Baptist Church
Friendship Baptist Church will host a back-to-school coke float party on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
During this time, local parents can bring their children to register for Friendship Tribe and enjoy a coke float treat.
Classes will begin Wednesday, Sept. 16 for four-year-olds through sixth graders.
Junior high and high school age youth will continue to meet on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.
First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church’s JAM (Jesus and Me) for kindergarten through sixth grade will start the school year on Wednesday, Sept. 9 with a meal from 5:40 to 6:00 p.m.
JAM will be centered around Bible stories and activities from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m.
Drop-off and pickup will both happen at the east door of the FBC Fellowship Hall.
Students in seventh through 12th grade started their Wednesday night sessions Aug. 26 with junior high meeting from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. and high school meeting from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m.
FBC pastor Jeff Turner said rotations and meal plans were still being worked out at press time.
