First Baptist Church is bringing camp to Albany this summer, after traditional out-of-town church camps were cancelled due to COVID-19.

Camp JAM will be July 16 to 19 for campers going into eighth through 12th grades.

First Baptist Church youth minister Campbell Terry said the Thursday to Saturday camp will have a Space Jam theme and will be in a Disciple Now style.

“We have about four or five host families that have volunteered, but we are looking for more,” Terry said. “Having the camp set up this way will help reduce the number of times we meet as a large group.”

Terry said registration started Sunday and is open to the community, not just First Baptist members.

“We are excited to get kids out of their normal environment, getting them away from their cell phones, and letting them experience the Lord in a way that is life changing,” Terry said.

If interested in attending camp, call or text Terry at 432-528-0208, or call the church office at 325-762-2019.

Terry also mentioned that a summer camp for elementary age children is in the works for sometime in July.
