FFA members compete in contests

Albany FFA horse judging and wildlife teams traveled to contests over the last two weeks, earning both team and individual awards.
Horse Judging
Competing for Albany at the Big Country FFA Invitational Horse Judging Contest in Coleman on Tuesday, Feb. 25 were Addie Beth Denton, Mady Connally, and Landree Connally.
The team earned 1072 points for third in the Big Country District, sixth in Area IV, and ninth out of all of the 52 teams in the contest.
Denton was the highest placing member of the local team and was fourth high individual in the Big Country District and 10th in Area IV.
Mady Connally was eighth high individual in district.
Wildlife
Albany FFA members competed at the Anson Invitational CDEs on Monday, March 2.
The team came in first in the Big Country District, third in Area IV, and seventh overall.
Blaine Kayga, Ryder Wilkins, Jackson Chapman, Cade Neve, Brodey Jones, Brady Karl, Ty Everitt, and Tyler Beard, placed first through eighth in district respectively.
Kayga was also the ninth high individual in Area IV.
