No paper to be printed Dec. 31

News readers and advertisers are asked to be aware that no newspaper will be published, either in print or online, during the week of New Year’s.

“There will not be an edition on Thursday, Dec. 31,” said News editor Melinda Lucas. “We hope we’ve given everyone ample notice that we’re going to take that week off to spend time with our families.”

There have only been a few times in the 44 years of Lucas ownership that there hasn’t been a weekly paper.

The News office will close all day on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

The News will be open on Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 28-30, of next week, but the office will be closed on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, and on Friday, Jan. 1. 

The next issue, to be printed the week of Jan. 4, will be distributed on Thursday morning, Jan. 7, as usual.
