Youth invited to lake event

The Feed Store held a Fourth of July party on Monday, July 2, as planned but, according to youth minister Levi Herron, the non-denominational youth ministry had to reschedule the Aztec movie event.

“The Fourth of July party was a really big hit, and we had 20 to 25 students that came out to enjoy hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and games, including gaga in the new pit that McLennan Jones made for us,” Herron said. “But the movie night we had planned for July 7 had to be postponed until August because of a scheduling conflict at the Aztec.”

Herron also said that everyone who wants to attend the upcoming Lake Retreat needs to sign up by July 16.

“We are hosting a Lake Retreat at the Trails’ house on Hubbard Creek Lake,” the youth minister said. “The cost is $25 per person, and there is a limit of 30 students. Leaders will be me, Ashlee (Herron), Spencer Newsom from MMPC, and Katy Burris from First Christian.”

The retreat will take place on the last weekend in July.

“We will leave Albany on Friday evening, July 27, around 6:00 p.m. and will come back shortly after lunch on Sunday, July 29.” Herron said. “We plan to go tubing, wake boarding, play games, and have worship. Parents and students can pick up registration forms and information packets at The Feed Store.”
