The final day of Albany’s youth basketball season and the opening of the Little Dribblers season, both scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, were postponed a week because of last week’s winter storm.

The fifth and sixth grade boys and girls teams will now wrap up their schedules Saturday, Feb. 12, at Eula. All four teams will play two games. League organizer Clint Chapman said some teams may play a third game.

Meanwhile, the Little Dribblers’ entire season was pushed back one week and will now extend into March, ending with a postseason tournament on March 12.

In addition to the weather issues, Little Dribblers also had to make way for Albany High School games last week after those contests were postponed a day.

League organizer Joe Tidwell said play will start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday with 10 games being played in both gyms.

Girls games are Red vs. Green 9:00 a.m., Grey vs. Turquoise 10:00 a.m., Purple vs. Pink 11:00 a.m., Red vs. Grey noon, Purple vs. Green 1:00 p.m., and Turquoise vs. Pink 2:00 p.m.

Boys games are Gray vs Red 9:00 a.m., Gray vs. Blue 10:00 a.m., Blue vs. Black 11:00 a.m., and Black vs. Red noon.

Girls coaches are Lauren Peacock – Red, Tate Thompson – Green, Kay Leigh Oliver – Grey, Heather Nitschke – Turquoise, Jo Hise – Purple, and Betsy Spraberry – Pink.

Boys coaches are Lindsey Vaughn – Black, Jacey Shack – Red, Joe Tidwell – Gray, and Chase Giddings – Blue.
