WORDS about the WORDS

He is Risen. That is what I was thinking when I woke up yesterday for Resurrection Sunday. He who? My Lord and savior Jesus Christ. As I was thinking on this, the Lord began to speak to me about the blood that speaks of mercy and grace.

I began to think about all the sins that were pushed down the road because of the blood of bulls and oxen.

Hebrews 10:4 You see, before Christ became the lamb, the blood of bulls wasn’t enough to forget the sins of man. It was just enough in the old testament as the high priest placed the blood on the altar once a year for for God to not bring judgment against his people.

In the book of Zechariah 3, Joshua the high priest is doing this very thing. But in verse 9, it refers to the coming Messiah that will remove the wickedness and guilt of this land in a single day. The blood of bull sand goats could not remove the guilt of the sin, but it could only act as a veil to hide the sin from God’s eyes so he would not bring judgment against his people.

So all the blood of calves and goats shed over all these years had to add up, just like all the sins of all the people added up, until that one day when Jesus took his blood and placed it on the mercy seat. What a day that must have been! That’s what we should all remember!

The Word of God describes it this way in Hebrews 9:11 – “But when Christ appeared as the High Priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not a part of the {material} creation. He went once for all in the the Holy Place {the Holy presence of God} and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, having obtained and secured eternal redemption {the salvation of all who personally believe}.

For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a {burnt} heifer is sufficient for the cleansing of the body, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Holy Spirit, willingly offered Himself umblemished to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the ever living God?

For this reason, He is the Mediator and Negotiator of the new covenant, so that those who have been called by God may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has taken place as payment which redeems them from the sins committed under the obsolete first covenant.”

So think about what changed. The covenant changed. We went from the old covenant of the blood of calves and goats to the new covenant of the blood of Christ. And even bigger, the Spiritual changed. How we pray and repent changed. We don’t have to climb a mountain like Moses to be with God; we can just sit and pray and wait upon the Lord. So imagine Jesus going into the presence of God in his glorified body and placing his blood that is speaking Mercy and Grace onto the Mercy Seat. Hebrew 12:24 “and to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant {uniting God and man}, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of Mercy, a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel {which cried out for vengeance}.

Any time there is an altar, there is always a priest. And guess who the High Priest is in the throne room attending to the Blood? It is Jesus! My Lord and Savior! The King of Kings. The Mediator of my faith. And his blood is speaking to me and my family and my past and future bloodlines Mercy and Grace! Thank you, Jesus!

There always seem to be many distractions during times that we are suppose to think on Jesus and commune with him. And Resurrection Sunday is no different.

Passover is used 29 times in the Bible, and one time in Acts 12:4 in the KJV, the word Easter is used. And from that one time has come about many things that do not relate at all to Jesus Christ and one of the most important things he did for you and me. And to add to this special day, the President of the United States of America makes a day for transgender visibility. May the blood of Jesus speak Mercy and Grace over the soul of America.

The good news is if you believe in what Jesus Christ has done for you, then you can spend every day thanking him, and seeking him, waiting on his voice, and communing with Him. He rose from the grave to defeat death and sin so you can be with him someday for eternity.

He is Risen!
