Wildfire Threat Intensifies Across County

A wildfire burned 445 acres on the Phin Reynolds Ranch north of Albany Tuesday, Aug. 18, as increasingly dry conditions continue to raise the fire danger across Shackelford County.

The Shackelford County Rural Volunteer Fire Department was the primary local agency responding to the blaze, with the Albany Volunteer Fire Department, Texas A&M Forest Service and others assisting.
