Weekly programs start up

Now that the holidays are over, local churches are gearing up weekly programs for the spring semester.

Friendship Baptist

Friendship Baptist Church started its children’s and youth programs back up on Wednesday, Jan. 13.  

The children meet each Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the youth meet from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church members also kicked off activities for children and youth on Wednesday, Jan. 13. 

Jesus and Me (JAM) children’s ministry is  5:30-7:15 p.m. each Wednesday. 

A kick-off bonfire for seventh through 12th graders was held this week at the Davis Ranch, with regular 6:00 p.m. Wednesday sessions at the church.  

FCA Programs

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be holding one-day retreats this year for its Weekend of Champions events.   

The girls program is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Solid Rock Camp in Eastland.

The boys retreat is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Beltway South Church in Abilene.  

Rhonda Vickers is selling raffle tickets to raise money for the events. The cost is one ticket for $5 or five tickets for $20.
