Waiting list started for golf tourney

The field for the Albany Golf Club’s Labor Day tournament has been filled, but organizers are taking names for a waiting list.

“We are all full up,” golf club board member James Waters said, “and I’ve got a couple or three teams that are still on the standby list.’ 

Waters encouraged those who would like to be put on the standby list to to sign up at the clubhouse, where a signup sheet is located, or call him 325-627-3598.

The two-person scramble is scheduled for Sept. 4-5. The event will have tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for the first round. The field will be flighted, and tee times assigned for the second round based on first-round results.

Players will have one mulligan apiece in each round. A meal will be served following the first round.
