The Parent Teacher Organization sponsored Fall Fest will take place at Nancy Smith Elementary School on Saturday, Oct. 26, and parents of students attending Albany schools need to make sure they are signed up to work a shift at the annual fundraiser.

“The sign-up sheets are out,” said coordinator Malarie Sutton. “They are due back on Friday, Oct. 18, so please get signed up.”

Parents who haven’t already signed up or heard from someone about requirements for their child’s class should contact a room mother.

Parents can check with the school or their child’s teacher to find out who the room mothers are for their student’s class.

Junior high and high school classes have booths too, and those booths need to have their shifts covered as well.

Sutton explained that each booth needs to have two parents (or youth, if the student is old enough to run the booth) signed up to work each hour of the event.

“We need two people signed up for the 9:00 a.m. setup,” Sutton said. “Then we need two people for each hour of Fall Fest, from 5:30-9:30 p.m.”

Parents of first grade students will be doing a cake walk, so they will each need to bring two desserts to the NSES cafeteria on Saturday, Oct. 26 by 5:00 p.m.

Senior students also need to bring two desserts per student to the cafeteria before 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 26.

“We’ve changed up some of the booths, so there will be some new activities this year,” said Sutton.  “We are also getting some different prizes.”

Along with manning the various class booths, volunteers are needed to help in the cafeteria.

“Contact Tisha Wilkins to sign up for the cafeteria,” said Sutton.

Cafeteria help is needed both before the event, to prep the food, and during Fall Fest.

Fall Fest benefits all grades, even through high school, and all parents and teachers are asked to help.

“Please volunteer and help us out,” said Sutton, “We really need parents to sign up and get all the shifts covered so everything runs smoothly.”
