Volunteers fight county wildfires

Shackelford County fire departments fought two blazes in the county in the past week as well as assisting with calls outside the county.

On Thursday, Aug. 8, local departmentsresponded to a fire in eastern Shackelford Countythatconsumed 559acres.OnTuesday,Aug. 13, members of the Moran city and rural departments fought a blaze along the Shackelford-Callahan county line.
