Urban Cowboy to show at Aztec

The 1980 romantic drama Urban Cowboy will be shown at the Aztec Theater this Saturday, Nov. 10 as the final movie of the 2018 Aztec Reel Deal movie series for season ticket holders, or for $6 per ticket for those that prefer to pick and choose which movies to attend.

The James Bridges directed movie stars John Travolta as Bud and Debra Winger as Sissy, a young couple who fall in love and marry soon after meeting at Gilley’s nightclub in Houston. Jealousy, conflicting ideas on the proper roles of men and women, and an ex-convict all take a heavy toll on the young marriage while the two newlyweds are “Lookin’ for Love” in all the wrong places.

The Aztec box office will open at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and the film, nominated for two Golden Globe awards and a Grammy, is set to start playing at the historic downtown theater at 7:00 p.m.

Free water and popcorn are included in the price of admission.
