Trunk or Treat moved to NSES

Children are invited to dress up in costumes late Saturday afternoon and head to the elementary school for the Ministerial Alliance sponsored Trunk or Treat, taking place between the school and the bus barn, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Members of various churches of the Alliance along with other volunteers from the community decorate their vehicles and bring games and/or treats to share with attendees, offering a safe place for the tykes to go trick or treating.

People who want to bring a trunk full of treats and hand them out are encouraged to contact a member of the Ministerial Alliance ahead of time, so they know who to expect, but last-minute arrivals are also welcome, according to Alliance president Brad McBee.

Participants are asked to be parked by 4:45 p.m., so the children do not have to watch out for traffic.

This year the Alliance voted to move Trunk or Treat from its traditional Wednesday night at the Bank Park venue to Nancy Smith Elementary School in conjunction with the PTO Fall Fest on Saturday, in hopes that the merger would increase attendance and participation at the Fall Fest.

“They are encouraging everyone to eat at the cafeteria, so we won’t be doing food this year,” said McBee.
