Tickets on sale for Aztec concerts

Tickets are still available for the James McMurtry concert on Friday,April 19 at the Aztec Theater, sponsored by Albany Live.

“Tickets are going fast, but there are some still available,” said Albany Live’s director of community relations Megaen Birdwell.

Tickets are also on sale for the May and June performances including William Beckmann on May 18 and the Pat Green show on June 8.

The McMurtry and Beckmann shows will feature the usual $75 and $50 seats, while seats for the Green concert will be $100 for reserved and $75 for general admission.

“We are so excited to have the lineup we were able to book this year,” saidAlbany Live’s director of community relations Megaen Birdwell.

Tickets for the Green concert are expected to sell out quickly. Green was the headliner at CareFest last August.

Tickets are available only at www.albanylive. org.

The doors will open at theAztec for all shows this season at 6:00 p.m., with performances at 7:00 p.m.

James McMurtry’s concert is anticipated to be a sellout. McMurtry, the son of famed author Larry McMurtry, is a Grammynominated singer/songwriter.

“Tickets are selling fast, especially for Pat Green,” president Michaela Smith said. “We encourage anyone interested in attending to get tickets sooner rather than later.”

Patrons are no longer able to add the VIP experience to a ticket, which included the opportunity to meet with performers and enjoy refreshments after the concert. However, a cash bar will be available to all ticket holders during performances.

Albany Live hosted the band Shinyribs last Saturday.

“Shinyribs was an amazing show,” Birdwell said. “It was a high energy performance like none other we’ve had before. The nine-piece band led by Kevin Russell had the entire theater on their feet dancing and singing along.”

Birdwell added that while the show was not a complete sellout, she reported that guests left saying it was one of the best shows yet.

This is the third series of concerts hosted by Albany Live.
