Ticket sales underway

Fandangle season is fast approaching, with memberships coming in, practices starting in just over a week, a date set for the membership sampler, and tickets to the summer shows already on sale to the general public.

Ticket Sales

In past years, ticket sales did not open to the public until May 1. This year, sales opened up to the general public on Sunday, March 1, giving members a shorter time window to purchase seats in the general reserve areas but still the option of making selections before others, according to new marketing director Scarlett Yates.

“Membership letters went out a couple of weeks ago, so members had a chance to buy their tickets in February,” said Yates. “And all box seats are still being held at this point.”

Yates explained that members who have had box seats in the past will be given first option.

“If they no longer want their box, we will next offer it to members who are on a waiting list for box seats,” said Yates. “If no Fandangle Association members want the box, we will eventually offer it to the general public. But we want our members to have first chance at them.”

New office manager Jamie Parsons is encouraging folks to join the association.

“We are getting memberships in the mail every day, and everyone is welcome to swing by the office and fill out a membership card,” Parsons said. “Members get invited to the Sampler, and of course, their dues help keep the Fandangle going.”

For more information about memberships or tickets, phone Parsons at 325-762-3838.

Membership Levels

Membership levels start at $25 for those 65 or older or $75 for individuals and families.

Other levels include Patron ($175), Bronze ($250), Silver ($500), Gold ($1,000), Platinum ($2,500), and Diamond ($5,000).

All members are invited to the Sampler on Saturday, April 25. In addition, members’ names are listed in the souvenir program. Patron levels and above also receive a priority parking pass.

Sponsorships

In addition to memberships, Yates is planning to offer Fandangle sponsorships this year.

“We really want local sponsors to join in and benefit,” she said.

Sponsors will have their name and logo visible at Fandangle performances and activities, and the company name will be listed in the program. Sponsors at different levels will be given two or more tickets to the show.

Sponsorships are offered at five levels; Nickel ($1,000), Copper ($2,000), Brass ($3,000), Gold ($4,000), and Platinum ($5,000).

“We are still figuring out some of the details,” said Yates, “and we will present those ideas to the Fandangle board at next week’s meeting.”

Rehearsals

The first rehearsal for the 2020 Fandangle will be held at the Aztec Theater on Monday, March 16 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Artistic director Lorna Ayers has requested that all cast members come to all the practices, including the first one, if at all possible.

“We will be rehearsing on Monday nights only during March,” said Ayers. “Rehearsals will be on both Mondays and on Thursdays in April.”

The Sampler is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at Collins Creek Ranch, the site of Fort Griffin Flat.

The summer shows will be on June 19, 20, 26, and 27, starting at 8:30 p.m. each night.

The parade will be in downtown Albany on Saturday, June 20 at 5:00 p.m.
