With the local tennis camp wrapping up, local athletes still have a chance to hone their skills during the summer break with a few camps still remaining.

The basketball, volleyball, tennis, and boys all-sport camps have been completed, while the cheer and volleyball team camps still remain on the schedule.

The team camp for the high school volleyball squad is set for July 28-30.

The schedule for the event is 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on July 28, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an hour break for lunch on July 29, and 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on July 30, according to coach M.J. Vickers Reneau.

Students who plan to be a part of the high school volleyball program and are entering grades 9-12 are highly encouraged to attend the camp.

Amelia Reeves, a coach and former player at Harding University, will conduct the sessions.

“The fee for the camp is $40 per player,” said Reneau. “I’ll start sending out flyers to all the girls later this month.”

Those interested in the camp can contact Reneau at 325-762-0351.

The annual cheer camp will be held a week earlier than originally scheduled, with new dates and times set for July 24-26 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Cheer sponsor Lindsey Vaughn said that forms will be available soon.

The cost of the camp is $45 per camper, but discounts will be provided to parents that have more than one child attending the camp.

Campers will be divided into groups depending on age. Anyone from the ages of three to six are eligible to attend the camp.

Campers will perform at the local hamburger supper in August.

General conditioning opportunities are also available throughout the summer.
