The Albany Academic Booster Club is once again inviting the community to “adopt” a member of the school staff through its Christmas Wish List program.

Sponsored by the “Rise and Shine” committee, the event enables local residents who want to participate to access a wish list made by teachers and staff of items they would like to have for their classrooms or offices.

Staff members were asked to complete their lists by Tuesday, Nov. 22 so that entries can be posted on a “SignUpGenius.com” account for the public to select a gift for specific teachers beginning Monday, Nov. 28.

The staff was asked to list two or three items with a maximum value of $50 to be placed on the website.

Once all the items are entered next week, a link for the donors to access will place on the school websites and Facebook pages, along with the Albany Academic Booster Club Facebook page as well.

“This is a great opportunity to encourage and support teachers and staff members who educate our children,” committee member Audrey Peterson said. “We have already a few requests on SignUpGenius.com, and we hope to complete the list by next week and send out the link.”

Parents and community members will then be asked to deliver the items to the schools no later than Monday, Dec. 19.

Classes dismiss for the Christmas holiday at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

This is the fourth year that the committee has sponsored the program.

Teachers and staff at both campuses have been asked to participate, along with other support staff.
