After releasing preliminary results for the five End-of-Course exams administered to high school students last month, the Texas Education Agency has now posted individual results for most students.

The scores have been loaded to TEA’s parent portal accessible at www.texasassessment.gov.

Parents must log in to that website using a state account they can set up for their student.

“We have a link to the state’s parent portal on our website,” said Leigh Lowe, director of student services. “We are not able to load the final scores on our website until they are made official on July 19, but parents can get a preview at the state’s portal now.”

Lowe noted that the parents must set up a login account using their child’s birthday and first name.

She warned that the scores of all students may not yet be available.

“TEA has posted most of the scores, but not necessarily all of them,” she said. “There may be some students who have tests that are still in question which will not be posted until later.”

Parents can go to the Albany ISD website and scroll down to the “Find it Fast” section. The link to the state’s student portal is located in the center box labeled “Student STAAR Scores.”

Parents are reminded that the state’s portal is not the same as the Ascender Parent Portal that parents use during the school year to check grades and absences.

Preliminary results from the EOC tests administered during the spring semester for the district as a whole were reported last week in the News.

Albany students scored above the state averages, and reported higher scores than the Region 14 average on four of the five tests. The exception was a tie score in math with the regional average.

Students are required to pass all five tests in order to graduate.

Results for STAAR tests for grades 3-8 have not yet been released by the state, but are expected to be available on Aug. 11.
