Swine validations due

Preparations for the winter stock show season continue with the conclusion of swine validation and entry deadline for major shows on Thursday, Dec. 1 (today).

Albany FFA adviser Chris Beard said the next phase is already underway with rabbit validation and delivery of chickens Friday, Dec. 2.

“We have been validating rabbits for the county show,” Beard said. “We will try to finish that up by Sunday, Dec. 11 so all entries will be final for the county show.”

The Shackelford County Youth & Livestock Show is set for Jan. 26-28.

District Banquet

At 6:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 14 Albany FFA members will attend the Big Country District Banquet at Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.

“This banquet is to recognize spring 2022 CDE and fall 2022 LDE awards,” Beard said. “Also, talent teams from the Big Country district will perform that night.”

Beard said the banquet, which is a project of Big Country District officers, requires official FFA dress.
