Splash Day will occur this Saturday, May 25, as the Albany City Pool officially opens up to kick off the summer season.

Those who wish to come to the pool and celebrate the beginning of summer with a swim will be able to do so for free on this special day.

Admittance to the pool during regular hours is $2.50 per person. Individual passes for the whole summer can be purchased at the pool for $75 per person. Family summer passes can be purchased for $150 and allow for all relatives who reside at the same address to have unlimited access to the pool during regular hours.

The pool is open from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Family night at the pool takes place every Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admittance during family night is $1 per person. A parent must accompany all children attending family night.

The pool will be available to rent outside of regular swim hours and will cost $150 per two-hour time slot. The entire rental fee must be paid when the reservation is made.

Rental times include 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The pool can also be rented from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Adults must be present during every party, and city-employed certified lifeguards will always be on duty during parties.

To check available rental timeslots or book a timeslot, call the City of Albany at 325-762-3133.

Those wishing to book the pool should do so as soon as possible, as it will fill up very quickly.

The Albany city pool is located at 900 N. Railroad Street.
