Sweeney to perform

The third country artist in as many months will take the stage at the Aztec Theater on Saturday, March 18 as part of the spring concert series sponsored by Albany Live.

As of Tuesday, a total of 140 tickets were still available for the show featuring Sunny Sweeney.

Tickets are $50 for general seating or $75 for reserved seating in the first three rows. As with all Albany Live productions, a $50 VIP experience can be added to the ticket price to meet the artist after the show and enjoy food and drinks in the Aztec community room.

According to organizers, since Sweeney’s show is not sold out yet, tickets should also be available at the door.

Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Albanylive.org website.

The doors open at 7:00 p.m., with the show starting at 8:00 p.m.

Sweeney is a genre-bending, song writing spitfire who has spent an equal amount of in the musical traditions of both Texas and Tennessee, according to her biography.

She recently released her fifth studio album entitled “Married Alone,” co-produced by Albany Live veteran Paul Cauthen.

Albany Live also has a show set for Saturday, April 22, when Kaitlin Butts will be featured in concert.

Tickets are available online for that show.

Butts’ most recent album, “What Else Can She Do,” are stories from different women facing the question: What else can she do?

Albany Live is a non-profit organization established to support the cultivation of live music events hosted at Albany venues. It was founded in December 2021 and has hosted eight events to date.

A total of 286 tickets are available for each performance at the Aztec, with the front three rows sold as reserved seating and the remaining as general admission.

The non-profit presented a donation to the Albany High School band program and also announced the establishment of a band scholarship program.
