In a little over three weeks, the 82nd run of the Fort Griffin Fandangle will begin, and organizers and participants are busy preparing for the upcoming performances and expected out-of-town visitors.

Dress rehearsal is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, and the four summer shows will start at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 18-19, and June 25-26 at the Prairie Theater just north of town.

The Fandangle Parade will take place in downtown Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.

Rehearsals

Despite the rain and the mud, practices have continued to be well attended,  according to Fandangle artistic director Lorna Ayers.

“We’ve had to make a few adjustments, but everything has really gone very smoothly,” said Ayers. “Everyone is looking forward to opening night.”

Because it is a busy time of year and there have been some last minute changes or announcements prior to rehearsals, Ayers continues to urge cast and crew members to sign up for text alerts which are used when there is a deviation to the schedule.

“Everyone involved in Fandangle should sign up to receive text updates by texting @fandan to 81010,” said Ayers.

Parents are reminded that elementary age children must be supervised during rehearsals and cannot be dropped off and picked up after practice.

 Tickets

Fandangle tickets can be purchased online at fortgriffinfandangle.org and selecting the link for “Tickets.”

Reserved seats cost $15 each, and special group pricing is available for groups of 20 or more, active military, and veterans.

Box seats cost $20 per seat and are only sold in complete boxes for $80, $120, or $160.

VIP tables are a new offering this year for Fandangle attendees.

Six to eight tables seating eight people per table will be located on the far left side of the stage.

Cost for the table is $300 per night and reservations will need to be made early by contacting Jamie Parsons at the Fandangle office.

“I ran a report on Tuesday and sales are on track, but tickets are going like crazy,” said Parsons. “People who are planning on attending a performance this year need to purchase their tickets soon.”

Memberships

Fandangle memberships are always available, starting at $75 for regular memberships, or $25 for those over 65 years of age.
