Local veterans will be honored guests at the seventh annual Albany Study Club Veterans Day Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 14, and committee chairman Tammy Glover wants to make sure that everyone notes that the event will be back at the Old Jail Art Center this year.

“We are having the luncheon at 12:00 noon on Nov. 14 in the big room at the Old Jail Art Center,” said Glover. “The luncheon is open to all local veterans and their spouses. Even if a veteran is now deceased, their surviving spouse is welcome to join us.”

The menu will be stew, cornbread, and an assortment of desserts.

“The luncheon is put on by members of the Albany Study Club,” said Glover. “Although we are a small group, we want to thank veterans and their spouses for their service in the United States Armed Forces.”

Tom Chandler, minister at Trinity Lutheran Church, will give a short welcome and prayer, according to committee member Janna Ledbetter.

Ledbetter added that Kirstin Hilliard will sing patriotic songs and her mother, Karen Noble, will accompany her on the piano.

Study Club members send invitations to all of the local veterans that they know about.

For more information or to be added to the veterans list, contact Ledbetter at 325-260-3857 or any other Study Club member.
