Students place well at area shows

Brayden Sullivan won the champion goat showmanship buckle at the Jones County Fair for the second year in a row, and Conner Clark followed close behind him, claiming reserve champion goat showmanship at the show. 

Hattie Braly exhibited the overall British Champion steer in Anson on Saturday, Sept. 22. 

Also placed at or near the top of their classes by the Jones County Fair livestock judge Chase Runyan were JT Holland, Cache Clark, and Paisley Clark.

Double Down Show

Sullivan and Conner Clark returned to Anson the following day for the Double Down Show Series competition on Sunday, Sept. 23, and continued winning honors.

Sullivan was named the top senior goat showman by David Garrett, judge for Show A, and also by Ricky Burns, judge for Show B. In addition, Sullivan showed the second place goat in both Show A and Show B. He also won second place in both shows with his medium wool lamb, and took fourth place in Show A with a ewe.

Conner Clark exhibited both the grand and reserve middle weight goats in Show A, and the third place goat in Show A.

Levelland Show

Gracie Price exhibited the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Chianina heifers at the Texas Junior Livestock Association sanctioned Showdown on the Plains in Levelland on Sept. 22 and 23.

Price also placed third at Levelland with a Shorthorn steer, and fourth with a Hereford steer.
