Students invited to praise night

The Big Country East Fellowship of Christian Athletes is sponsoring a “Praise & Worship Rally” at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 at The Feed Store.

Junior high and high school students from Albany, Moran, Baird, Cisco, Breckenridge, Woodson, Throckmorton, and Newcastle are invited.

Organizer Paul Johnston said the event will be similar to the Saw You at the Pole rally held earlier this fall.

“I’ve invited the same schools that came to Saw You at the Pole,” Johnston said. “It will be a little bit more laid back, probably a lot more music where the kids can just worship.”

Johnston said pizza will be provided.

“I have no idea how many kids will show up,” he said. “We could have anywhere from 50 to 150 kids.”

Johnston said he views the event as a way to help teens cope with the stress of upcoming semester exams and the holidays.

“It’s been a really busy first semester, and things are hectic right now,” he said. “There’s a lot of stress getting ready for finals and Christmas, and I thought this would be a good time for kids to have a chance to relax a little and socialize with kids from other schools.”
