Students to host Legacy Dinner

The youth of Beltway East Student Ministry hosted its annual Legacy Dinner on Dec. 5 at the Beltway East Student Ministry building.

The invited guests were treated to a full holiday spread including turkey, ham, and the works, according to sponsor Lorna Ayers.

The food is prepared by the youth group’s sponsors and served by the students.

“The group members scrubbed and cleaned last week, and then they set up the tables and chairs,” said Ayers. “The traditional Legacy Dinner is an opportunity for the junior high and high school students to show their appreciation for the people who have supported them their entire lives, and have made Albany the unique, thriving, accomplished place it is.”

According to Ayers, many of the guests have told her that they look forward to the event all year long, and the youth also enjoy the time of fellowship.

“The students are thrilled to be able to sit down and have a conversation with the people that have provided so much for them,” Ayers said.

Beltway East students meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., beginning with a meal. Bible study and service events focus on worship, the Word, community, prayer, and service.

“All students are welcome,” Ayers added.
