Twenty-four Albany FFA Greenhands (members who are enrolled in their first year of high school ag science), adviser Chris Beard, district vice-president Alayna Koemel, and area treasurer Seth Hale all attended the FFA Greenhand Camp held in Abilene at the Taylor County Expo Center last week.

“Seth and the other area officers met in Abilene on Monday to get ready for the two-day event,” said Beard. “Seth put on one of the workshops at the camp, and Alayna helped him.”

Greenhands played team building games and heard motivational speakers, according to Beard.

Beard added that Anna Easely, who is student teaching in Beard’s classroom this semester, accompanied the group from Albany.

Easely is currently “on the block” at Tarleton State University, where she is close to completing the requirements for her bachelor’s degree in agricultural services and development.

“She is the daughter of Cindy Freeman Easely, an Albany graduate,” said Beard. “She will be student teaching here until mid December.”
