Student council officers elected

Albany Junior/Senior High School students recently elected student council officers and representatives, along with a full slate of class officers.

Candidates for the student council officer positions each gave a brief introduction to the student body prior to the voting during a assembly for grades 9-12.

Senior Robyn Trail was elected as president for the council for the upcoming year, along with senior Adam Hill as vice president.

Zane Waggoner, also a senior, was selected as the secretary for the group, while senior Brooklyn Abbate was voted in as treasurer.

Senior Jaci Chapman was named reporter and Tyler Chapman, also a senior, was selected as parliamentarian.

The student council is sponsoring a Blood Drive for the Hendrick Regional Blood Center for students and staff on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The council is currently selecting the theme for homecoming activities on Oct. 20, and they will also organize the election of homecoming royalty.

Other projects for the year will include dress-up days, sponsoring the door decorating contest for Red Ribbon Week, and Winter Formal.

The president of each class in grades 7-12 also serves on the student council, along with one boy and one girl representative from each grade level.

Class officers, including student council representatives, were elected last week in a separate election.

The senior class elected the following officers Braylyn Abbate - president, Robyn Trail - vice president, Tyler Chapman - secretary, Jaci Chapman - reporter, Brooklyn Abbott - treasurer, Zane Waggoner - parliamentarian, StuCo representatives Cort Peterson and Kiana Roberson.

The junior class selected John Birkla - president, Avery Everitt - vice president, Laithe Leech - secretary, Kenzie Neve - reporter, Abi Hale - treasurer, Gabby Lopez - parliamentarian, StuCo reps Landon Balliew and Madailein Beard.

Named as officers for the 10th grade were Huffman Heatly - president, Calhan Fairchild - vice president, Jackson Shack - secretary, Hollis Yeates - reporter, Madi Parrott - treasurer, Jaxson Street - parliamentarian, StuCo reps Woods Peterson and Alli McDaniel.

Named as officers for the ninth grade were Braeten Street - president, Adrian Wren - vice president, Britton Farmer - secretary, Hattie Braly - reporter, Connor Smith - treasurer, Zayne Lefevre - parliamentarian, StuCo reps Logan Balliew and Tatum Grady.

The eighth graders selected Aiden Vickers - president, Jakobi Roberson - vice president, Tara Cauble - secretary, Rush Kidd - reporter, Kamryn Graham - treasurer, Hunter Sutton - parliamentarian, StuCo reps Jordan Knight and Charli Trail.

Officers for the seventh grade are Jathan Perez - president, Trevor Bellah - vice president, Hailey Gleitz - secretary, Emma Smith - reporter, Bentley Boyett - treasurer, Steven Esfandiary - parliamentarian, StuCo reps Zaiden Dockins and Tara Maples.

Student council sponsors are Jenny Scott and Chanel Hayner.
