Student council officers elected

Albany Junior/Senior High School students recently elected both class officers and student council officers for the 2022-2023 school year.
Student council candidates were required to give a brief introduction during an assembly for grades 9-12 prior to the voting that was completed using ballots accessed on student computers.
Senior Leddie Leech was selected as president of the student council for the upcoming year, along with senior Presley Green as vice president.
Cole Chapman, also a senior, was named as secretary, while senior Gracie Price was picked as treasurer of the organization.
Junior Jaci Chapman was voted in as parliamentarian and senior Ella Webb was named historian.
The student council this year includes the class presidents, vice presidents, and the two representatives selected by each class during voting.
The first order of business for the group will be coordinating homecoming activities, including choosing a theme for homecoming activities set for Oct. 14, Trick or Trick for Change, assisting with Red Ribbon Week, and sponsoring Winter Formal.
Each of the six classes in grades 6-12 nominated and voted on class officers last week during also using a computer ballot. Students interested in being elected were required to sign up for positions prior to the vote to ensure their interest in holding a position of leadership.
The senior class elected the following: Presley Green – president, Leddie Leech – vice president, Gracie Price – secretary, Briley Tabor – reporter, Ashley Richards – treasurer, Cole Chapman – parliamentarian, Mayson Garcia and Ashley Richards – student council representatives.
The junior class picked: Robyn Trail – president, Cort Peterson – vice president, Brooklyn Abbate – secretary, Jaci Chapman – reporter, Braylyn Abbate – treasurer, Tyler Chapman – parliamentarian, Cambree Clegg and Sidney Russell - student council representatives.
Named as officers for tenth grade were: John Birkla – president, Landon Balliew – vice president, Kenzie Neve – secretary, Avery Everitt – reporter, Myleigh Leveridge – treasurer, Landon Kreitler – parliamentarian, Avery Everitt and Kenzie Neve – student council representatives.
The ninth grade officers are: Caroline Chapman – president, Woods Peterson – vice president, Alli McDaniel – secretary, Calhan Fairchild – reporter, Ryan Turner – treasurer, Huffman Heatly – parliamentarian, Madison Parrott and Mimi Ivy – student council representatives.
The eighth grade students named the following officers: Zayne Lefevre – president, Tatum Grady – vice president, Judson Rogers – secretary, Rowdy New – treasurer, Judson Rogers and Autumn Harrison – student council representatives.
The seventh grade class officers are: Hunter Sutton – president, Ryder Smith – vice president, Graham Cedar – secretary, Ace Vickers – reporter, Charli Trail – treasurer, Charli Trail and Cayla Green – student council representatives.
Student council sponsors are Jenny Scott and Chanel Hayner.
