Student council officers elected

Albany secondary students recently elected both class officers and student council officers for the 2021-2022 school year.

The student council selected senior Sarah Cotter as president for the organization for the coming year, with seniors Luke Ivy as vice president and Ty Everitt as secretary.

Other officers elected include juniors Gracie Price as treasurer and Cole Chapman as parliamentarian. Sophomore Jaci Chapman was picked as the group’s reporter.

The student council this year includes all of the class officers and the two representatives selected by each class for the council.

The first order of business for the group was selecting a theme for the class floats in the homecoming parade on Oct. 1. The overall theme is music genres, with classes picking from Country, Rock and Roll, Rap, Jazz, and Pop

Each of the six classes in grades 6-12 nominated and voted on class officers last week during WIN time using a computer ballot.

The senior class elected the following: Luke Ivy - president,  Sarah Cotter – vice president, Kamryn Browning – secretary, Susie Cormack – reporter, Brooks Neece – treasurer, Avery Kleiner – parliamentarian, Ana Balliew and Ty Everitt – student council representatives.

The junior class picked: Presley Green – president, Cole Chapman – vice president, Gracie Price – secretary, Briley Tabor – reporter, Chloe Daugherty – treasurer, Ella Webb – parliamentarian, Mayson Garcia and Michael Sadler – student council representatives.

Named as officers for 10th grade were: Robyn Trail – president, Kiana Roberson – vice president, Brooklyn Abbate – secretary, Jaci Chapman – reporter, Braylyn Abbate – treasurer, Tyler Chapman – parliamentarian, Sidney Russell and Austin Sanchez – student council representatives.

Ninth grade officers are: John Birkla – president, Laithe Leech – vice president, Myleigh Lev-eridge – secretary, Brody Brown – reporter, Kenzie Neve – treasurer, Landon Balliew – parliamentarian, Abi Hale and Will LeMay – student council representatives.

The eighth grade students named the following officers: Huffman Heatly – president, Mimi Ivy – vice president, Mason McCloy – secretary, Lane Helle – reporter, Ryan Turner – treasurer, Breylon Billington – parliamentarian, Caroline Chapman and Jackson Shack – student council represent-atives.

The seventh grade class officers are: Adrian Wren – president, Logan Balliew – vice president, Nicholas Gjerpe – secretary, Zayne Lefevre – reporter, Rowdy New – treasurer, Braxton Henry – parliamentarian, Hattie Braly and Colter Edgar – student council representatives.
