The 2021 Shackelford County Youth and Livestock Association Buyer-Seller Reception will take place this Saturday, April 10 at The Feed Store, starting at 6:00 p.m., and all those who have not yet paid for their pledges are asked to settle their accounts as soon as possible.

“We still have almost $14,000 outstanding,” said association treasurer Molly Cauble. “If these bidders had children or grandchildren who showed, the participants will not get their checks until everything has been paid.”

Exhibitors also need to have written and turned in their thank you notes, paid any debts owed to the show or concession stand, and cleaned their pens to be eligible to receive their sale checks.

“The purpose of the banquet is to present premium checks and first place plaques, and to recognize supporters,” said ag instructor Chris Beard.

The recipient(s) of the Watt R. Matthews Scholarship and the winner of the Top Hand Award are also announced at the annual event.

SCYLA Meeting

A meeting of the SCYLA will take place the following Tuesday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Albany High School ag building.

Any concerns about the 2021 SCYLA show will also be addressed.
