Spots are still available for the Albany Masonic Lodge Scholarship Tournament. The three-person scramble will be held Saturday, July 29 at Albany Golf Course.

The field is limited to the first 18 paid teams. All proceeds benefit the Albany Masonic Lodge Wisdom Foundation, which awards college scholarships to high school graduates.

Mason John Tate said the lodge presented $6,000 in scholarships to Albany graduates last May, up from $5,000 presented in 2021 and 2022, which was up from $4,000 in 2020.

Tate said the Masons will continue taking donations even if the golf tournament fills up.

“We’re going to have a donation location set up at the tournament,” he said. “Folks can come eat a sausage wrap for lunch and make a donation to the scholarship program. Every cent we make on this golf tournament goes into the scholarship fund.”

Entry fee is $150 per team and includes a meal. Sponsorships are also available at $500 for a hole sponsor, $650 for hole sponsor plus team entry, and $1,000 for corporate sponsor plus team entry.

A meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. with teams teeing off at 1:00 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded for long drive on No. 3 and closest to the pin on No. 6.
