Spots still open for Labor Day golf tournament
By Sam Waller
The field for the Albany Golf Club’s annual Labor Day Golf Tournament was about half full earlier this week, giving those interested in playing two more weeks to sign up.
As of Monday, Aug. 14, 28 of 60 spots had been spoken for.
The two-person scramble is scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 2-3 at Albany Golf Course.
Entry fee is $200 per team and includes one mulligan per player per day as well as a meal on Saturday evening. The field is limited to 60 teams. Tournament director Shawn Sutton said entries will be taken until the limit is reached.
Morning (8:30 a.m.) and afternoon (1:30 p.m.) tee times are available for Saturday’s round. The field will then be flighted for Sunday.
Early entries were almost evenly split between morning and afternoon tee times.
Cart rental will be available with 11 entries having made requests as of Monday.
“We will have enough rentals for both flights,” Sutton said.
