The deadline for the Old Jail Art Center children’s workshop has passed, but organizers are willing to accept a few more signups.

According to education director Erin Whitmore, the virtual camps are full, but spots are available for the in-person Safari and Re-Create camps, and families need to sign up by this Saturday, July 23 if they want to participate.

The Aug. 3 Cultural Connections Camp about Greece is full, said Whitmore, both virtually and in person. The puppet classes, to be held online Aug. 10-12, are also filled.

However, there are still three openings for incoming fourth through sixth grade students to join the Re-Create Camp on Friday, Aug. 5.

Campers will find artistic re-uses of found and recycled materials.

Whitmore added that there are three spots still open for the Safari Camp  on Tuesday, Aug. 9 for grades one through three.

For both of those events, participants should bring a sack lunch, with the classses to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students who registered for the virtual camps will receive supplies for crafts in the mail and a password to access step-by-step instructions for each craft.

Children of OJAC members can participate free, but the cost for non-members is $15 per camper.

Parents can register their children at theojac.org or call the Old Jail Art Center at 325-762-2936 for questions and information.
