Singers asked to help in Nativity choir

The adult choir for the Albany Nativity can still use a few more voices, according to choir director Sandy Abel.

“We could use some more people,” Abel. “It is not too late! There are not that many pieces to learn, and some of them are carols that most people are familiar with.”

The adult choir sings from the balcony, so they do not have to worry about costumes.

The next rehearsal will be Friday, Dec. 7, at 7:00 p.m., at the Aztec Theater, and the director invited new participants to just show up for practice.

“Just come up in the balcony and join us!” Abel said. “We have some extra copies of the music.”

Rehearsals will also take place next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, Dec. 10, 11, and 13.

The two performances of the Albany Nativity are scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15.

“Of course, we will adjust as needed depending on the football games,” Abel added.

The Albany Nativity was written by Robert Nail and is produced biennially by the people of Albany for their friends and neighbors.

Tickets to the performances will be available at the door, and are free of charge.
