The Austin band Shinyribs has built a reputation of presenting high energy shows that include a variety of music genres.

“Shinyribs is a unique band of 9 to 10 members who have been featured by Austin City Limits on several occasions,”saidAlbany Live president Michaela Smith. “They have a very large fan base, so we expect another sellout.”

Shinyribs defies genres asa sonic melting pot of Texas Blues, New Orleans R&B funk,horn-driven Memphis Soul, country twang, border music, big band swing, and roots-rock, according to the group’s website.

The group is led by Kevin Russell, the charismatic front man with color ful suits and extravagant shoes who continuously swaps out an electric guitar for a ukulele and never falls short of creating a cinematic experience with on-stage antics that often include him donning a light-up cloak orleadingacongaline through the crowd.

James McMurtry’s concert is anticipated to also be a sellout. McMurtry, the son of famed author Larry McMurtry, is a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter.

“Tickets are selling fast, especially for Pat Green,” Smith said. “We encourage anyone interested in attending toget tickets sooner rather than later.”

Patrons are no longer able to add the VIP experience to a ticket, which included the opportunity to meet with performers and enjoy refreshments after the concert. However, a cash bar will be available to all ticket holders during performances.
