More than 3,000 truffles were sold as part of Project Graduation’s Valentine sale fundraiser, according to organizer Kenzie Fairchild.

“The Valentine sale went very well,” Fairchild said. “So far, all the fundraisers have gone well. We appreciate the community for participating in them and buying from us.”

Seniors and their parents had three workdays at The Feed Store preparing Valentine’s Day gifts, which included items such as stuffed animals. Gifts were delivered on Monday, Feb. 14.

“We rolled a lot of balls and dipped a lot of chocolate,” Fairchild said. “There were 3,000 little Oreo balls dipped in chocolate.”

Fairchild said no other fundraisers are planned for the immediate future, but events could be added after spring break.

“We might put something on the calendar at the end of March,” she said “If we do, it’s only because I have a few seniors who have not put in their time. Seniors have to participate at least four times to qualify for Project Graduation.”

Fairchild said there are other events coming up that will enable seniors to meet requirements.

“We’ll have a concession stand for the track meets,” she said. “They can work on that, as well.”

Albany will host the junior high district meet on April 2.

Seniors needing hours may contact Fairchild with ideas for future projects.
