Season tickets for Albany Lions football games are on sale for the 2021 season.

The Lions have five home games scheduled at Robert Nail Memorial Stadium, starting Sept. 17 against Haskell.

That will be the first of three consecutive home dates, followed by Anson on Sept. 24 and the homecoming game against Olney on Oct. 1.

District 8-2A home games are Oct. 15 against Hico and Oct. 29 against Santo.

Single-game tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Season tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students.

Season tickets may be purchased at the high school principal’s office, ticket coordinator Ann Riley said.

Single-game tickets will be sold at the gate for home games. For away games, fans must purchase tickets online in advance.

Tickets for junior high and junior varsity games are $4 for adults and $2 for students.

“The season tickets for the varsity does not get you in to the JV games,” Riley said.

Senior Citizens Passes

Senior citizens passes are available to anyone age 65 or older through the AISD superintendent’s office.

“These are good for as long as  as the holder hangs onto the pass,” Lynsi Musselman said. “The same document can be used next year and after that, and they are valid for all home games and some out-of-town games.”

Musselman said passholders should contact the host school for each away game to see if passes will be honored.

“The passes have ‘Albany ISD District Pass’ printed on them,” Musselman said, “but some schools allow them and some don’t.”

Field Access

There will be fewer restrictions on field access for Albany home games this season, AISD superintendent Jonathan Scott said.

“We are approaching this school year as we have in the past with the exception of last year,” Scott said. “We plan to operate on normal procedures as long as we can. Of course, that plan can change with any new directives from the Governor, TEA, UIL, and/or local officials.”

Scott said parents will be allowed onfield to form the pregame spirit line again after that practice was prohibited last year.

“We reserve the spirit line for the parents of the players,” he said. “This and other practices like the spirit line may be adjusted based on the host school’s expectations. We may find some schools not wanting parents on the field.”

Scott said postgame access will be allowed for home games, but not on the playing field itself.

“With respect to the visiting team, we are asking parents to stay off the field and meet their student-athlete in the end zone areas,” he said.

Livestreaming Option

Scott said livestreaming of most games will again be available for fans.

“We are offering live streaming again this year through NFHS at all home games and away games if possible,” he said. “Unfortunately, we are not able to air this Friday’s game. Anyone interested in watching through NFHS must purchase a subscription through NFHS.”

Subscriptions are $10.99 per month or $69.99 per year. To subscribe, visit www.nfhsnetwork.com.

Livestream events can be watched on smartphones or tablets with the NFHS Network app, online at www.nfhsnetwork.com or on conected devices such as Apple TV, Amazon’s FireTV, Roku, or Google TV.
