Regular school day hours could change next Wednesday and Thursday somewhat if the Lion football team advances to the state playoff game.

School officials are waiting to see if the Lions win the semifinal game against New Home on Thursday (today) in Sweetwater before announcing any changes to the school schedule.

The Lions will play at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington if they advance to the championship game.

Some type of early release will probably be implemented for all students on both campuses if Albany advances. However, no specific time is expected until at least Friday following the semi-final playoff results.

Also, it is possible that school would have a late start on Thursday, Dec. 15 since the Class 2A Div. 2 championship is a night game in Arlington.

Changes in the schedule will not affect semester finals to be administered at the secondary campus for grades 7-12 this year. Finals are not set until the following week on Dec. 19-21.

Regular release times are planned for both Nancy Smith Elementary and Albany Junior/Senior High School on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 19 and 20. There will be a 12:00 p.m. early release to start the Christmas holidays on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
