Albany students and staff were back in the classroom this week after a longer than usual Christmas break and will be off two days next week.

The next scheduled school holiday is set for Monday, Jan. 16 for Martin Luther King Day, followed by another day away from school on Friday, Jan. 20 for the local stock show.

Staff members will have “comp” days for both days, meaning they do not have to show up if they completed the required number of workshop days last summer.

The next student holiday is set for Monday, Feb. 20 for President’s Day. Teachers will work that date for staff development.

Spring break is scheduled for the week of March 13-17.

The final two holidays are set for Good Friday on March 7 and the following Monday, March 10 as part of the Easter break, provided the district does not have to use any “bad weather” days between now and then.

The final day of classes for the spring semester is set for Thursday, May 25, with graduation planned for Friday, May 26.
