Representatives of local organizations and boards that award scholarships to Albany High School graduates are asked to contact Ann Riley at the AHS office by Monday, March 27.

The office will be closed for spring break March 13-17for spring break and will reopen for regular hours on Monday, March 20.

Riley added that the scholarship list will be uploaded to the district’s website and distributed to local seniors by Monday, April 10 informing them of the requirements for specific scholarships.

“Some scholarships have a form the student needs to fill out; others require a letter,” Riley said.

The seniors must then turn in their application letters by Friday, April 21, Riley stated.

The packets of letters will be organized and ready for representatives of the organizations to pick up by 12:00 noon on Monday, April 24, and then the organizations should notify the school concerning their selections no later than Wednesday, May 10, preferably before.

“Scholarship selections need to be in my office by May 10 at the very latest,” said Riley. “You must return the names of the students chosen for the awards back to the high school office by then. I can’t accept them after that date.”

If it would help, Riley said, the organization’s representative can send the information to her email account.

The AHS office number is 325-762-3974 and Riley’s email address is ariley@albany.esc14.net.

If organizations gave an award last year, but they don’t plan to give in 2023, a representative is asked to call Riley with that information.
