Albany Methodist Church will honor retiring pastor Tim Trimble with a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at The Feed Store.

Trimble is retiring after more than 16 years in the ministry, the last nine in Albany.

Trimble said a highlight of his time in Albany was seeing the church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry flourish.

“The best thing that happened to me and the church was our Celebrate Recovery group,” he said. “I think the ones who attend regularly would say the best thing to happen to them is Celebrate Recovery and being loved by the church. Many of them would come in and tell me ‘we need some Jesus tonight’.”

Trimble joined the ministry in November 2007 after studying at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology. He served churches at Knox City, Benjamin, and Fort Davis before coming to Albany.

Trimble will preach his final sermon as pastor on Sunday, June 5.
