Plans are underway for the Albany Golf Club’s traditional Labor Day tournament set for Sept. 1-2 at the local course.

Registration for  the two-person scramble was officially opened after a Monday night board meeting held to finalize plans.

Participants in the tourney will tee off at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, after which teams will be flighted for Sunday’s rounds.

An entry of $80 per person, or $180 per team, includes one mulligan per player for each day of play. The entry fee also covers a meal on Saturday evening.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each flight.

There will be a limited number of carts available by reservation.

“We only have a few rental carts available,” said board member Randy Walker. “People who need a golf cart should let us know that they want to rent one when they turn in their entry.”

For more information about the tournament or to register, contact James Waters at 325-627-3598.

Weekly golf scrambles will continue into the fall months on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 5:30 p.m. each week. The entry fee for those events is $10 for club members and $15 for non-members.
